Ikenobo Lake Washington Chapter
10th Anniversary Celebration
The members of the Lake Washington Chapter of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society celebrated the 10th annniversary of our Chapter founding on July 28th and July 29th, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue Hotel in Bellevue, WA.
We are proud that our celebration was held during the year that honors the 550 years of recorded Ikenobo history and very honored that Headmaster Sen'ei Ikenobo accepted our invitation to attend and participate.
The highlight of our event, of course, was the rare opportunity to observe the Ikebana demonstration by Headmaster Sen'ei Ikenobo. He is widely recognized as one of the most influential headmasters in the continuous history of Ikenobo Ikebana. Approximately 300 attendees were present for the Headmaster's demonstration.
A total of 54 Ikenobo members from Japan also participated in our celebration activities, which included an Ikebana exhibition, banquet and the formal Reishiki-ike ceremony conducted by Professor Shinichi Shimizu from Japan.
